NO! I'm not talking about procrastinating on homework assignments. That will never stop. I'm talking about procrastinating with life.
Awesome is the only word I can use to describe today. I woke up, went running/walking with two of my friends, collected a third friend to get smoothies at Ben and Jerry's, and lost one running buddy and gained another friend to go see Date Night which was a hilarious movie. The only problem is that today is the last day of spring break. Why did I wait so long to make plans with friends? The stupid jokes and fun moments with friends are the ones I will probably remember most when I get out of high school. When I can drive I'll be able to hang out with my peeps more often :D
Anyway... the four of us then went to see one of their dogs. As I was the only girl in the group and a stereotypical animal lover, I was enjoying cuddling and playing with the dogs while the others were not. The boys were all being indecisive about our next activity, so I invited them to my house to play wii. We played wii fit after a long time of them mumbling that I do not have any "good games" (shooting games) and they all seemed to enjoy themselves while I pigged out on chinese food. They suspiciously didn't want food and I suspect that they were attempting to be polite. Ah well, their loss.
Tomorrow is the first day of school in a week. I still need to edit an essay about violence in Of Mice and Men. Of course I spent my time picking out what to wear tomorrow instead of finishing homework. :/

*Yawn*
I should stop posting these so late. Tomorrow's is going to be posted before 11 or not at all! My day was not exceptionally exciting. I woke up to some nice text messages from friends which always makes my day happier. I deleted my myspace after I realized that I hadn't used it in 4 months. No use keeping it...
Last night I felt like today would be a happy day, which it was, so I posted on Twitter my premonition of a good day. I started posting follow ups of the good things that happened today. It went like this:
1. Sunny weather
2. waking up to nice texts
3. I did not see any ants in my house for the first time in about a month
4. I cancelled my Myspace account
5. My friend got her Driver's license :)
6. I went to take my food handler's class
7. I got a 100% on the test
The food handler class was easy and they went over the same things about 3 times each. The test answers were obvious because the answers that were correct all had to do with germs and bacteria. It was a great people watching experience :D My mom and I joked at the manual the whole time.
I don't feel like writing about my love life or drama issues. That might ruin my good outlook. I should try to be this positive all the time!

"Scanning helps you to see problems ahead"
Waking up at 7:45am during spring break is not a good idea. This is why I went back to sleep until 12:30pm! For some strange reason, I thought my orthodontist appointment was in the morning so I woke up, dragged myself upstairs, looked all over for my appointment card, and could not find it. My mom had folded it up and put it next to our calendar. I found it and the time read "2:25 PM" *evil glare* I went back downstairs and fell asleep.
The next thing I know, it is almost one o'clock and I have to jump up to eat lunch* and prepare myself to leave the house. This was difficult because I didn't want to change out of my footie pajamas. My mom had texted me from work 2 hours earlier asking if I was up yet. While shoving a sandwich down my throat, I had to study the Driver Guide** for my knowledge test later in the day. I successfully finished getting ready before my mom got home and we left for the orthodontist.
I happened to get my least favorite lady who has ever worked on my teeth. She has dropped tools on my face multiple times and stabbed me in the gums leaving me with painful, swollen cuts for days. This time she decided to be slightly more careful and she only accidently popped off one bracket that they were going to take off anyway. The "top guy"(the one who checks on my teeth and tells the lady what to do) came over to help with the moving of brackets and asked me questions about driving rules while his hands were in my mouth. This is always the most awkward part about visits to sentists and orthodontists. How are you supposed to answer them?! They told me that I don't have to use rubber bands for at least a month which is really exciting. My braces are supposed to come off this summer. I've always wanted to take a picture of myself with the funny glasses and bib, but I feel weird doing that when all the other patients can see me. Maybe I will at my next visit :)
The next stop I made was to the Department of Licensing to take my knowledge test. I passed. It was an easy test. My driving test is scheduled for April 27th. That is the one I am nervous for. At least I'll be driving halfway across the state and back before then for practice! My parents are letting me drive us to state solo and ensemble. yay!
It was pointed out to me that all of my friends, guys and girls, ask me for realtionship advice. Yeah, me, the single girl. Why? Maybe because I don't have relationship drama of my own. I've decided my advice for all of them should be to stay single. My mom was wondering why I don't get any of the guys. I do. I just get all of the annoying ones and end up turning them down. I must me cursed. The most recent drama is that two of my friends broke up and the boy wants to get back together with the girl. I support them getting back together because I think their relationship could have worked out. I don't understand why she broke up with him. Sadly, she has already moved on and went on a date with another guy a few nights ago. This guy is a jerk, too. hmph, people can be so stupid. Maybe tomorrow I'll post about my own sad love life.
*technically breakfast for me, but whatever
**This is where the title's quote came from. I decided I could apply this driving tip to the rest of my life :P

Eye of the Tiger
*sigh* 'Twas a wonderful beginning to spring break. Yesterday I spent most of the day shopping for new spring and summer clothes. I found new jeans to replace my high waters and got a few dresses. A new pair of running shoes topped off my shopping. The rest of the day was lazy.
I woke up this morning in time to ask my mom if she could drive me to the park to go running after she got home from work, so I stayed in my PJs for a few hours before leaving to go to the park. I gossiped with my friend like we always do, but was annoyed when I discovered that he is trying to set me up with a guy I don't like. Directly after running he went to the guy's house to talk to him about me... grrr. After he rushed to the guy's house, I was left alone to wait for 20 minutes until my mom could pick me up. Immediately after getting home I recieved a surprise text message invitation to a party for our school musical's orchestra pit. It took me a half hour to get ready and I rushed over as soon as possible. We played rock band and I must say, I pwned easy level drum set! We went through eye of the tiger and don't stop believing to satisfy our pep band nostalgia before going to all american rejects and crush crush crush. The pizza came and we pigged out. Next, we watched the video of our musical. Sadly, we never got to see it live. The pit was in the band room and we were surrounded by microphones leading to the stage. We ate huge slices of ice cream cake and played more rock band. I love band geek parties!
Tomorrow I am taking the written driving test and I have an orthodontist appointment. fun stuff. Hopefully the rest of break goes as smoothly as today did :)

Easter Sunday
The youth wind ensemble that I play in usually meets on Sundays, but it ended two weekends ago leaving me free to finish homework... or not. Today I felt like I should be driving to practice. Instead, my family took a day trip down to Portland to visit my sister at her college for Easter. I'm going to recap my adventure.
This morning started out very nicely. I woke up early (around 7:30) in order to get ready for a day in Portland. I walked upstairs to an Easter basket filled with candy and an adorable stuffed duckling. There was no rain and the weather looked as if it might clear up a bit and let through some sunlight. My dad then appeared, yelling at me to get dressed when I still had an hour and he clearly wasn't ready. I finished up a delicious breakfast and prepared for our trip by 9:00, the time we were supposed to leave. An hour later my dad finally came out of his room. We went on our way.
The three hour car ride was fairly boring considering I forgot my ipod, candy, and driving handbook on the counter at home. My dogs were keeping me entertained by jumping on my lap. Suddenly, one of my dogs started to lick my shirt. It turns out she had left some poop drizzle on my shirt and kindly decided to clean it off for me. I freaked out and threw off my shirt(yes, I had a tank top underneath) and shut my dogs in their rightful area, the trunk. For the rest of the trip, I zoned out and tried to ignore the goosebumps on my arms.
We arrived in Portland and met up with my sister to check out the senior art exhibit on her campus. Eventually we went out for "brunch" around 2:00. We checked to see if the art store was open to buy a new canvas because my sister's was stolen or misplaced, but it was closed. The dogs did their business and we drove my sister back to her dorm. I did not want to walk her to her room because I would have to walk through the pouring rain in a tank top. She got mad at me because she "felt as if I did not enjoy visiting." Truthfully, I did enjoy seeing her, just not the unfortunate rainy weather or the poop on my shirt parts. We drove back home for a total of 6 hours of driving in one day. Ick.
I got home and felt bad for not having 2 and a half hours of French horn practice, so I practiced for a little over an hour. Homework will be saved for a later day because this week is SPRING BREAK!!! YES!

Title Dilemma
Hello there! My name is Katherine. What's yours? You may be wondering why I started a blog, but your question should be why did I wait so long to create this blog. Well... I couldn't think of a title, ahaha. The first step in the blog-making process blocked me out for over a year. I spent the past half hour trying to pick a creative title. Not very creative, huh? Eh, it's what's on the inside of the blog that counts :P
Yup, I was going to take part in Blog Every Day in April last year. As you can tell, this never occurred. This year has already been a failure considering I forgot about BEDA until this evening. Hmmmm, I'll have to take part next year. For now my plan will be to attempt to post 3 times a week. :D Yeah, I think I can do that. To create this, I was in need of a Google account. To my astonishment, I already had one!!! I don't remember ever making one...
In other news, I have found myself to be shivering with anxiousness for the past week. State solo and ensemble is creeping up quickly. I got in with my horn quartet and my solo! There were only 3 other French horns competing in my region and state has 21 others. Ahhhh! My brass quintet got 1st alternate to a quintet who is playing the same song as us, Quintet no. 1 Op. 5 3rd movement by Victor Ewald. They have seniors and we don't :/ Planning for next year has also been making me jittery. Next year, as a high school Junior, I am planning on attending community college for joint high school and college credit. If I use up all of my 22.5 high school credits next year, I won't be able to go to community college during senior year. This is difficult planning! I want to be in too many classes.
There is no way I am telling any family or friends about this blog, but if they find it then they should feel free to read the contents. Who knows, maybe my everyday life will interest some people and I'll collect a few readers? That would make me smile :) Have a nice night!
